Shannon Koval had a brother whose home was untouched by the heavy smoke of the wildfires  that permeated the area and he took the family’s beloved seven dogs and two cats. One of the cats, whose name is Ivy, shares a deep bond with Shannon’s six year-old daughter, Kinsey.

In Shannon’s own words: “Kinsey and Ivy are best of friends. She is the kind of cat that tolerates anything and follows my daughter around like a puppy.”

Shannon’s brother took great care in transporting his sister’s beloved pets, but Ivy the cat had a plan up her feline sleeve, so to speak, and escaped, soon to be the adorable subject of an animal reunion news story. According to Shannon, “The day after we left she went missing, so she very well could’ve been trying to find us… We were devastated and so sure we’d never see her again.”

A Facebook Plea And Touching Animal Reunion News

Kinsey was crushed by the loss of her sweet cat friend and many days passed  with no word or sign of the cat anywhere. And then it happened. A tip on Facebook claimed that a white cat was seen walking on a road a few miles away from where she was lost. Shannon’s brother headed the search for Ivy and when they reached the spot, Kinsey began calling for her lost friend.

According to Shannon: “To their amazement, when Kinsey called Ivy she immediately came running out of the dense forest and into her arms. Ivy’s fur was a bit stained by the smoke but she was otherwise in good shape. She was so grateful to be home. Ivy ate happily and spent a lot of time cleaning herself and snoozing on her scratching post.”

Life is good again for the Koval family of humans and pets. For Ivy and Kinsey, who have made animal reunion news, love knows no season or clime and extends to the moon and back.
