A very curious koala bear made Australian animal news when it wandered into a New South Wales pharmacy and began strolling up and down though the aisles. The Australian adventure lasted about ten minutes, much to the delight of pharmacy customers and staff.

A Veterinarian’s Wife Called Her Husband For Help

A vet’s wife was shopping next store at the time of the unexpected shopping spree. She called her husband to ask what they should do about the unusual consumer visiting the pharmacy. According to one employee: “The koala was very relaxed and friendly and walked around the store for around 10 minutes. The local vet’s wife was next door at IGA supermarket and called her husband who then contacted the right people for advice. We were advised to leave the animal alone, let him find his way out and if possible, lead him to a nearby tree.”

According to pharmacy owner, Ashley Wiles, the koala took to customers and its new surroundings well, but the poor creature could not get any pharmaceutical advice. Alas, for no one in the pharmacy could speak or understand koala. Members of the local community escorted the koala safely down the street where it happily climbed up the nearest tree at the post office.

Go figure.
