#1. Goat Love
Chilean animal rescue news has a sweet and loving face
The Santuario Igualdad Interspecie is located in El Monte, which is about 31 miles from Chile’s capital city of Santiago. It was founded in 2011 by two vegan activists, Ariel Maluenda and Marisol de la Reguera, who were both members of the Organización Veganismo, a national organization fighting for the rights of animals. The two young women joined forces to combat the ramifications of human greed and cruelty upon the lives of innocent farm animals. They are dedicated to tending to the bruised souls and emotional needs of ducks, pigs, cows and goats.

Many enraged citizens and animal lovers allied with their cause. Although many may have heard the horror tales about how domestic farm animals were treated, seeing it first hand in living color, so to speak, raised an indelible awareness and a burning need to change the situation.
