Actress Demi Moore appeared on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to discuss the latest happenings in her life. On the show, she revealed to Fallon that she lost two of her front teeth. The actress went on to provide proof in the form of a picture with her smiling wide gap.
She also shared a video of her at the dentist getting her teeth fixed. She’s now sporting a pair of pearly white dental implants. Moore says that her teeth were sheared off due to stress.
If you find that a bit weird, don’t be alarmed. Many people aren’t familiar with this condition and it isn’t very common. Dentists say that people can ‘shear’ their teeth by clenching and grinding them. The constant friction weakens the bone and eventually the teeth fall out.
But regular trips to the dentist will prevent this from happening. During routine cleanings, dentists can check for gum disease and stress on your dental arch. If they detect any problems, they will do some adjustments or provide a special mouthguard to prevent grinding.
There is a difference between shearing and rotting. Gum disease and plaque are the main culprits. They cause bacteria buildup that leads to cavities. If left untreated, cavities will cause teeth to decay.
The best way to avoid these problems is to brush your teeth and try to reduce stress. Fifty-three year old Moore has been an actress for decades and she’s done a good job of keeping herself relatively healthy and fit.
She told Allure magazine that she moisturizes a lot. She also works with a personal trainer to stay toned and balanced on a healthy diet.
Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. It helps to raise endorphin levels which sends “feel-good” chemicals to the brain. Regular dentist visits will also correct any dental issues.
