The cartoon has drawn many critiques, most of them negative. People are outraged that Ruby Bridges, the brave 6-year-old girl being depicted in the original painting, is being used to defend Devos who is part of a billionaire member of a political machine that is widely disliked for being racist, misogynist, and classist.
